With all the devastating wildfires happening in California, residents of the Mosier Fire District should be starting to make defensible space, or improve existing defensible space, on your property. If you had not seen the 2025 Wildfire Hazard map, the County and surrounding area is in the High Risk category for the second straight year.
The Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office has a program that either one of their personnel, OR a member of the Mosier Fire District, will give you a FREE home inspection and offer pointers on how to make your property more defensible.
As an incentive, those qualifying homes will receive a $250 payment to support essential fire mitigation projects.
