The Mosier Fire District Board met twice in February.
Two new Board members have been appointed: Joanne Rubin and Phil Evans, the two applicants from the Wasco County Board of Commissioners part of the process.
The Board is now considering nominations for the fifth Board position.
The Board is interviewing a list of about fifteen persons who have either expressed interest or who have been recommended.
All additional appointment nominations are welcome and will be considered up to March 6, 2015.
This is also a great time for anyone to step up who may not be interested in a Board position but would like to contribute to an advisory committee (budget, policy, planning), or any in other capacity including simply staying informed. There are big things taking shape — apparatus purchases, a new station, policy development and review, long-range planning. Get involved!
Board members must either own property or be registered to vote in the Fire District. ORS 478.050

As if that’s not exciting enough, four of the five Fire District Board positions are up for election in May 2015.
Candidates for those positions must file with the Wasco County Clerk by March 19, 2015.
