Burn restrictions partially lifting 9/24

As of 6AM Tuesday, September 24, 2013 and ongoing thereafter until further notice, anyone with a valid Mosier Fire District burn permit is allowed to burn in BURN BARRELS ONLY until 11AM.

Contact the Fire Chief for a burn permit.  541-478-3333.  Residents of the City of Mosier need to contact City Hall, 541-478-3505.  Burn permits are issued for the calendar year, noting the annual burn ban from July 1 until the arrival of fall rains.  For District residents outside the City of Mosier, burn permit renewals are sent out automatically at the end of the calendar year.

Burn barrels must be extinguished by 11AM.  Check here for specifications of an approved burn barrel.

Burn piles are still prohibited, until further notice.

These requirements are established by Oregon Department of Forestry, in consultation with fire districts and departments in Hood River and Wasco Counties.  Hood River County is under different requirements at this time.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Mosier Fire Chief.
