Dick Gove was a giant in the development of Mosier Fire. He was a political leader in the formation of the Mosier Rural Fire Protection District in the late 1950′s and early 1960′s. He was a strategic leader in securing better equipment and department organization. And he was a mentor and role model for his dedication and service. “Mister Fire” will be remembered and revered for a long time in this department.
Many thanks to those who donated to Mosier Fire in Dick’s memory. We are beginning the process of planning a fitting memorial, in consultation with Marjorie. We hope to dedicate the memorial in time for the annual Smorgasbord on Sunday, May 1, 2011.
